IMPORTANT! Women's Rights (Rape Case)

I was talking with a lawyer friend of mine. We were discussing the law and women`s rights. She told me about this incident - a young girl was raped by a man posing as a plain clothes officer; he asked her to come to the police station when she and her male friend didn't have a driver`s license to show. He sent the boy off to get his license and asked the girl to accompany him to the police station. Took her instead to an isolated area where the horrendous crime was committed. Infact, the law clearly states that between 6 pm and 6am, a woman has the right to REFUSE to go to the Police Station, even if an arrest warrant has been issued against her. It is a procedural issue that a woman can be arrested between 6pm and 6 am, ONLY if she is arrested by a woman officer and taken to an ALL WOMEN police station. And if she is arrested by a male officer, it has to be proven that a woman officer was on duty at the time of arrest. It is good for us to know our rights. To what extent it comes of use remains to be seen in any situation. But as they say, knowledge is power. Just thought I`d share this with you. I did not know this and am sure lot of us will not know this- please be informed..... And pass on this info to whom all u know.......

Tow Trucks Cheats! (Malaysia)

Early yesterday morning - about 1.20 am - Kana and I were returning from KLIA after sending someone off. We were driving thru Subang Jaya.In front of A & W we were on the right lane, driving slowly preparing to do a U-turn. Suddenly Kana saw 2 cars racing at the back and in a split second one of them knocked us at the back and I think the other scraped my side of the door. The noise of the souped up cars racing was frightening. We felt the knock at the back. Kana held tight to the steering wheel and we felt the car swerve to the side, then go up and we turned turtle!!
So so fast we were so scared and making sure the other was safe. Kana managed to undo his seat belt I could not at first. Immediately there were people outside shouting to see if we were alright. Then they dragged and turned the car over. By this time I had managed to undo my seat belt and were both pulled out. I was shivering, my legs, so soft. By Gods Grace we both managed to walk out. Kana had a scratch and me a bruise. Of course today the body aches. Meanwhile we noticed there were like a hundred people at the scene. Most of them appeared concerned asked how we were, any bleeding, want to to go to the hospital, anyone else in the car, all your belongings with u, make sure you take out your stuff, lock your car etc. We were very touched and thanked everyone for their help. Then .. they started asking so what u want to do to your car, I can help you to tow and send to mechanic. Then we noticed that there were more than one person with walking talkie. These guys were touts and all they were concerned about was us using their services. And they started arguing with each other- like why are u here, we came first and some indians answering hey "they are my saudara so I am here to help"! Anyway to cut a long story short, the police arrived and our car and the crowd was blocking traffic so we requested for the car to be towed to the police station. At the police station they still wanted to know where we wanted to send the car - mind u the police were not around now. When we told them we intend to write off the car the touts all became angry and started scolding us - things like u never help Indians, u know we helped save your life, etc. So to avoid a scene we paid them - from 80 the price went up to 250! The main reason I am writing this is to urge you :
1.Please always use your seat belt. We both escaped becos we were belted up otherwise we would have been thrown about. PASSENGERS AT THE BACK TOO MUST BELT UP. If anyone was sitting at the back they would not have survived.
2.Avoid roads that have illegal races. They don't care.In fact our insurance agents tell us that this is a tactic that touts use to get more business. And thats why in less than 5 minutes our car was turned over.Be careful when u drive.
